Even if the required knowledge and skills are available in individual team members this does not imply that a team is aligned as a whole and is making full use of its potential. International and cross-functional teams are often exposed to more complexity, not only because of culture and language issues, but also because of diverging targets and priorities. They frequently have fewer opportunities for face-to-face communication.
The seminar/workshop approach focuses on practical solutions to reduce the potential for misunderstanding and utilize diversity. Tools and processes are developed to enable the team to build on its full potential.
I have been conducting both team development projects and team training in Europe, Asia, Arabia and North America and have repeatedly supported project groups over a period of two or three years. Clients have been mostly international businesses with multi-cultural and mono-cultural groups.
To achieve high post-workshop sustainability I spend time in the preparation phase to ensure that contents and objectives are geared to the specific requirements of the team.
